ASuop Government
ASUOP Government continues to progress as a campus leader and nowhere is that more evident then the efforts and workings of the government branch of ASUOP. The government of ASUOP exemplifies excellence as it continues a strong partnership with the Division of Student Life and exhibits leadership in the greater Stockton community.
ASUOP Government, like most government in the United States, has three branches: an Executive, a Senate, and a Judiciary. These three branches work together to ensure that the student voice is heard in University governance, supply essential valuable service to the USOPU members, and provide the opportunity to be involved in student life at Pacific.
The Executive branch is made up of the President, Vice President, Attorney General, Treasurer, and six Commissioners. These individuals are responsible for the day to day operations of ASUOP and its services.
The Senate forms the overall policy and goals of ASUOP, approves the annual budget, and serves as a conduit for information to flow from the students to the University Administration. There are currently ten senate seats, one for each school on the Stockton campus, with the exception of the graduate school, and three Senators-at-large.
The ASUOP Judiciary Board is a group of three students who are called upon from time to time to hear cases where an interpretation of he ASUOP Constitution is needed.
There are many different ways to get involved in ASUOP and student life in general. We have many positions open in Government, Commissions or committees that need students, or just another set of hands on a big project. Let us know that you are interested.
